Earlier, I was talking with my fiance about how hard it must be someone who knows top secrets, but not be able to talk about them with anyone but other people with the same clearance. Writing a book is much like that, on a lower scale, especially when you plan out a series. As a writer and storyteller, I don't want to spoil the story for any of my readers. So, I have been unable to share a greater portion of the best parts of the story with anyone until now. It's such a relief and I really can't wait!
Writing a book is a lot like sharing a part of your soul with people. No matter what anyone tells you, there's a sense of satisfaction when a reader highly anticipates finding out what will happen in your next book. Those characters have become something important to them, just like they have to the me, as the author. Some of the best compliments I've ever received were when readers told me that they felt like they could call my characters up on the phone, or they felt like they were living inside the story. Sometimes they would laugh, cry and be very frightened. Many times they've said they had to keep turning the pages. That meant I was able to transport them into the world of my creation and live inside the pages for a spell. I would say that in this long endeavor, with all of the ups and downs, I have succeeded.
For those who have enjoyed my books, you'll be pleased to know that there is more in store. This series is not the end. I do have a prequel series planned after a short break for the new book promotion and a couple of other crucial projects. (It's times like these that I think it would be nice if I could clone myself.) Just when you thought that the story couldn't get any better, it will. There's a new level to the story that will take you by surprise. I promise. I've been planning this for a while, so now I will bear another mental burden for a few years, until it can be released. This is a story that's begging to be told, in a very unique way, and I can't wait to begin. I will warn everyone that I have plans for about 7-8 years of work on this series, excluding my other projects. With what I have in store, it will be worth it!
As always, I greatly appreciate the other authors, my readers, friends and family, who have shown their continued support. It means a great deal to have you join me for this journey. Thank you!
